make of it what you will, 2019

Make of It What You Will is a sculptural work (45cm x 60cm) informed by my experience of Fowler’s Gap arid zone. It consists of perspex and recycled spotted gum telegraph poles, milled and sanded into blocks, representing connection between places experienced (home and landscape).

On each block the linework attesting to the tree’s history has been left unpainted, referencing time, while the remaining four sides are painted in colours from various moments in a day.

The work is designed to be disassembled and reassembled in different ways. In so doing, I invite the viewer to consider that the landscape is ever changing and our perceptions of it are individual and changeable.
